just okay Jan 07, 2010
By clg This was a gift to my husband and me to help free up some space in our little condo. I assembled it (not too difficult except for trying to determine which screws were the "long" ones and which were the "medium" ones) and put the bikes on it, and my husband was afraid it would topple over. It didn't seem very sturdy with the bikes on it. If we had a garage with a cement floor, it might be okay, but we have to store our bikes in a carpeted room. We each have a Cannondale mountain bike - one medium size frame and one extra large frame. It was hard to get both bikes to fit without rubbing against the floor or each other, and the hooks didn't hold the bikes in any stable position. Didn't save any space either. I took it apart, and it has sat in its box under our bed for over a year now. Our bikes are now stored upside down and side by side on the floor - much sturdier and much less space taken up.

Great Bike Stand Feb 11, 2009
By Thomas Lyman

Sturdy stand holds my 2009 Bianchi C2C 928 Carbon Monocoque Centaur and 2009 Specialized FSR XC Stumpjumper Comp 29er. The Stumpy goes on the bottom because it is heavier and the tires don't touch the floor. The 928 Centaur goes on the top. It weighs 15 pounds. I think if the heavier of the were on the top it would not make a difference. This is a well made, durable stand. It is freestanding, which is exactly what I wanted in case I wanted to change locations. I didn't want the 'lean against the wall' type. You can adjust the cycle holders to whatever position you want to hang the cycles. The reason for the 5th star missing in this review is it took 2 deliveries to get the parts to fit together right. (The second delivery, Amazon direct, came the next day - great!) Somebody must've been drunk during the welding process and the weld covered the place where the screw fit in, thus the screw would not go into the part. The instructions are good, but they labeled screw 'J' wrong. Don't use the short screws (J) in the beginning. Use the longer screws throughout until you come to the piece fitting in the middle of the rack (then use J). All the screws were there, plus they give you nice tools for putting it together. I'm not a good person at putting things together, but the instructions were adequate, except for the labeling error. Lay out all your parts before putting it together and make sure the welds don't cover any parts where screws are inserted. I'd actually give 10 stars to Amazon for the next day delivery. I left my tel number in the customer service slot and right after I hit enter, my phone rang. Great followup service on Amazon's part.

Handy Bike Rack! Jun 28, 2010
By ReviewerOne We purchased this bike rack almost a year ago and have been very pleased with its value and function. We needed a space-saving way to store our bikes without marring the ceiling or wall, and this has proved to be exactly that. I'd like to note that when we first received this order, the box appeared to have been opened previously and the instructions were missing. As a result, it looked initially like a part or parts were missing as well. I had contacted Amazon right away about this, but they couldn't really help with this type problem and said to contact the manufacturer. It took a little research at that time to find a contact number for Stoneman Sports, but I eventually did. (It's 626-338-8998, given here by permission). When I called, I spoke with Dennis Wang personally, and he was most helpful, e-mailing the actual manual to me right away. After receiving that, I was able to identify that all the parts *were* actually in the box and nothing was missing other than the manual itself. (Prior to confirming this, however, he'd already assured me that they would ship us any missing parts that we needed right away.) It was so nice to have a problem resolved with so little hassle! I would rate their company service as excellent, as they quickly and pleasantly worked to help us out with this order, and I wouldn't hesitate to buy from them in the future.

This is a great rack and holds two bikes easily and is very solid!! We did alot of research regaridng cost-quality tradeoffs and determined that this seemed to fill the bill nicely. I agree that the installation directions have an error regarding which bolts to use...easily fixed.

Good item, amazon has the wrong description Aug 02, 2009
By Russell Ericksen This is exactly what I was looking for, good design. However, amazon had only one left and sent me the 52" model, not the 80" model as described and pictured here. Waste of time and shipping costs.
